Cameron McClellan had looked forward to this month at the beach in the Hamptons, to get away from business and spend time with his ten-year-old son Kip.

Maybe by going back to the home he’d summered in as a boy, he could even recapture some of the joy of his youth.

Cameron wasn’t exactly sure what he expected from Gull Cottage. But it certainly wasn’t what he got: an almost bare “furnished” house, a raucous mynah bird with whom he had a long unfortunate history, and — in a great big barge of a bed — a nubile blonde woman named Gracie Talbot.
