Privacy Policy

I am the data controller and date protection officer for www.annemcallister.com. If you have questions not covered in this document, please contact me at anne.mcallister(at)gmail.com.

What information do I collect?

When you visit my site, you will receive a session cookie. It is stored in the temporary memory and will terminate when your browser is closed. It stores information about the session, but does not identify the user.

If you visit only pages that are part of www.annemcallister.com and do not click on any of the links that take you out of the website to social media sites, booksellers or the sites of other authors or those mentioned in the context of news or updates, this is the only information I collect via cookies. If you do click on links in the sidebar or internal webpages that take you to other sites, you may receive cookies from those sites that www.annemcallister.com has no control over. You should be able to opt in or out of cookies on those sites at your discretion. I cannot do that for you.

If you participate in a contest sponsored by www.annemcallister.com, I may ask you for your email address, your name and, if you are a winner of the contest, your mailing address.

If you contact me by email, I will reply using the email address from which your contact came or another one if you provide it. I will retain that contact information to send you news about upcoming events, contests or book publications. If you do not wish me to keep that information, please advise me and I will delete it at once.

How do I use your information?

I may use your email address if you provide it to send you updates about books published or contests being held.

Does my website use cookies?

It uses a temporary session cookie when you visit www.annemcallister.com.

I do not collect persistent cookies that can identify you.

Do I disclose your information to outside parties?

No, with the following exceptions:

If needed by my website hosting partner
If needed by my web design team
If I are required to do so by law

If I do release the information, the parties must agree to keep your information confidential unless required by law to release it.

Third party links

To provide you with the opportunity to visit websites, booksellers, and social media sites that I find of use and interest, I have included links to them on www.annemcallister.com. They may put cookies on your computer which I have no knowledge of or control over. If you visit them, you will have to decide how to deal with their cookies. I cannot do that for you.

I do not receive any commission for your visiting those sites. They are there purely for your convenience.

If you find that a link does not work, please advise me. If you have other concerns about any of these links, please let me know. I welcome your input on this and on any other issue.

Newsletter

At present, I do not send out a newsletter. You can access news and information from author pages on Facebook and Twitter feed. If you have a specific question, please write anne.mcallister(at)gmail.com. If you do so, you are providing me with your email address and, if you choose, your name which I will retain in my address book on gmail.com unless you request that I delete it.

Your personal information is only accessible to me on my gmail account, accessible online in a password protected environment.

I will only use it to respond to your email or, possibly, to notify you of my upcoming book publications or other personal publishing news. If you wish to have me remove your contact information, please advise me, and I will do so. If I ever do decide to send out a newsletter, I will announce it on my website before I send it, and I will update the privacy policy to reflect that.

Changes to our policy

This policy is current as of 18 May 2018. If I update it, the changes will be made here, and the date of the most recent privacy policy will be included in this section.
